Our Origin Story
Rooted in the Oregon Wild.Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, our founders spent years on the front lines of the region’s most challenging wildfires. We’ve seen firsthand how a single spark can transform a landscape, and we’ve seen how proper land management can be the difference between a home lost and a home saved.
We realized that while there are many emergency responders available once a fire starts, there are very few professional crews dedicated to the complex work of pre-season prevention. We traded our seasonal fireline deployments for a year-round mission: protecting our neighbors in Lane County by applying wildland firefighting tactics to residential and private forest lands.
The Professional Standard (Certifications)
Trained. Certified. Proven. We aren’t just a clearing crew; we are wildland professionals. Our team is composed of individuals who maintain rigorous federal and state firefighting standards.
- NWCG Certified: Our core team holds S-130 (Firefighter Training) and S-190 (Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior) certifications.
- Tactical Expertise: We don’t just cut brush; we understand fuel types, moisture levels, and topographical “chimneys” that influence how a fire moves.
- Safety First: We operate under the same strict LCES (Lookouts, Communications, Escape Routes, and Safety Zones) protocols used on active fire incidents.
OUR MISSION
Our Mission: Electrical Power for Heroes’ mission is to provide or improve electrical services to physically disabled veterans and physically disabled first responders.
Why We Focus on Lane County
Protecting Our Home.
From the Douglas Fir stands of the McKenzie River Valley to the oak woodlands of the South Hills, Lane County is one of the most beautiful—and vulnerable—places in the country. We live here, we work here, and we understand the unique local ecology. Whether it’s clearing invasive species like Scotch Broom or managing the aftermath of a heavy Cascades ice storm, we are committed to keeping our local communities resilient.
Our Philosophy: The Firewise Way
Science-Based Prevention.
We believe in the Firewise USA® principles of defensible space. Our work isn’t about “clearcutting”—it’s about “smart-thinning.” By creating separation between fuels and removing the “ladder” that allows ground fires to climb into the canopy, we help you create a landscape that is both beautiful and defensible.
