Fuels Reduction Specialist (Crew Member)

The Mission:
Execute precision thinning and debris management using chainsaws, brush trimmers, and hand tools.

Requirements:

  • High level of physical fitness (ability to carry 45lbs over uneven terrain).
  • Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
  • Strong communication skills and a “safety-first” attitude.
  • Preferred: S-130/S-190 certifications or a desire to earn them.

Equipment Maintenance Specialist (The Armorer)

The Mission:
Ensure the crew’s “weapons” are always mission-ready. You are responsible for the cleaning, precision sharpening, and mechanical maintenance of our fleet of saws, trimmers, and hand tools.

Requirements:

  • Deep knowledge of 2-cycle engine repair and maintenance.
  • Mastery of chainsaw chain sharpening (hand-filing and grinders).
  • High attention to detail—the safety of the crew depends on the reliability of your work.
  • Organized mindset for inventory and tool-tracking.

Lead Sawyer / Crew Boss

The Mission:
Leading a 3-5 person squad on complex residential projects. Responsible for tactical felling, rigging, and ensuring all Firewise standards are met.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of wildland fire or professional forestry experience.
  • Advanced chainsaw proficiency (C-Fallers preferred).
  • Experience leading crews in high-consequence environments.
